Pizza places in the United States run from a counter with two stools and a stack of boxes to a full sit-down pizzeria with a bar, and most neighborhood shops do all three things at once: dine-in, takeout and delivery. Ordering by phone is still common and often faster than an app, and many independents charge less when you call direct because there is no platform fee. Sizes are usually listed in inches (a small around 10", a large 14", an extra-large 16" or more), and a large feeds two to three adults. Slices are sold from a display case at New York-style counters and reheated to order; whole pies take 15-25 minutes at a busy shop. Most spots take cards and mobile pay, though a few older pizzerias remain cash-only, so check the door or the listing before you order.
The business lists hours on 2 days of the week. The most common schedule is 11 AMβ7 PM. As with most places, expect changes around holidays; the phone number below is the fastest way to confirm. The listed phone number is (215) 922-0000. Many businesses also reply to text messages on the same number if it is a cell phone. Philadelphia is in Pennsylvania, in the Northeast, where four distinct seasons shape local life: hot humid summers, snowy winters that can close businesses for a day, and a dense pattern of towns where walking, transit and street parking all matter. Traffic in Philadelphia peaks on weekday mornings and afternoons, so allow extra time then. Addresses read from the street number up to the city, state abbreviation and five-digit ZIP code; the map link on this page shows the exact spot.

Absolutely lives up to its reputation! The line outside can seem daunting, but it moves really fast. Crust is perfect. Cheesesteaks are amazing, and the different cheese options make a crazy difference in the heavenly tasting experience!

Me n my bros came from Commiefornia to Philly to see the All-Star game and eat cheesesteaks. Doing research, we all agreed Angelos was a necessary stop. To compare, we earlier in the day tried both Pat's and Geno's so we had something to compare it to. We got there 30 min before they opened, and there was already a line. We were the 7th to place an order and we didn't get our food til almost 11:20. And it was worth it. We got a pizza and cheesesteak. The pizza was decent. Nice crust. My bro who ordered, forgot to add pepperoni, which I think would have kicked it up a notch, leaving the cheese and basil pizza just OK. Not something I'd get again, but the cheesesteak, oh my. After opening the wrapper, we knew this was going to be next level. The mix of meat and cheesy yumminess was off the chart. First bite was incredible, and of the 3, we all agreed on the champion. Will definitely come back if ever in Philly. Thx Angelo π

Loved everything about it. Meet a friend to look at his boatlift, he suggested we get a late lunch at Angelo's. Its my first time in Philly and really wanted a great cheese steak. They did not disappoint, it was huge, delicious and we ate at a nearby park. It was the perfect end to a great trip to the area. The bread was soft with just the right amount of chewy, the steak was mixed perfectly with a ton of cheese. I am in love and now have my goto for cheese steaks in Philly. Thank you to Chris for taking me there, you made my trip much more enjoyable.

The pepperoni pizza was delicious, best pizza in Philly! We also got a cheesesteak just to try it since there has been a ton of rave reviews. It wasnβt our favorite cheesesteak in Philly but it was decent! Just a bit too greasy for our liking and so overpack with meat that itβs hard to eat. If an extra stuffed cheesesteak is your thing, youβll love it!

Angeloβs Pizzeria in South Philly is hands down one of the best spots in the city for both pizza and cheesesteaks, and it absolutely lived up to the hype when I brought a couple buddies there on a Saturday at peak time. This place has built a serious reputation over the years- especially for their bread, which they make fresh in-house daily- and that alone puts them in a different league. We pulled up to a long line, but donβt let that scare you- it moves pretty quickly and is 100% worth the wait. We ordered the Diavlo pizza (Italian long hots, hot sausage, homemade arrabbiata, red pepper flakes, fresh garlic) along with a cheesesteak, and both were unreal. The pizza had a perfect balance of heat and flavor, and the crust was exactly what you want- crispy, airy, and fresh. The cheesesteak lived up to its reputation too, with that signature bread really making the difference. After ordering at the counter, we got the text to pick up the food in about 10β15 minutes, which is impressive given how busy it was. The staff kept things moving and were all really friendly despite the rush. One thing to keep in mind: thereβs no seating inside or outside, so plan ahead. A lot of people grab t
